A Winner of Superbowl LX is yet to be determined.
AJ Barner
Position: Tight End
- The type of player coaches dream about, Barner is
willing to fill any role for the Seahawks. "If you ask me
to go out there and catch passes in a game, I'll go do
that," he said.
- "If you ask me to man up the C-gap and
be physical, I'll do that. If you ask me to play on every
special team, I'll go do that."
Tyler Lockett
Position: Wide Receiver
- Steadily, Lockett's numbers rise in Seahawks history.
He was second in yards, catches and touchdown
grabs at the end of 2023, and he remained a big-play
receiver.
- He had at least a 50-yard catch in a season
four times and at least a 40-yarder in all but one since
entering the league as a third-round draft pick.
DK Metcalf
Position: Wide Receiver
- It's this simple: Metcalf knows that his spirited style
of play has brought him plenty of NFL success, and he
planned on staying true to the attributes that have made
him a Seattle star. "I'm not going to change the way
I play," the standout WR said. "I'm not going to change
who I am as a player or a person."
Byron Murphy II
Position: Defensive Tackle
- Without a top-10 scoring defense since 2016, Seattle
hired defensive-minded coach Mike Macdonald to lead
the squad in 2024.
- The move toward an aggressive,
smashmouth brand of football continued when the
Seahawks took Murphy with their first pick. "He just
plays our style of football, really," Macdonald said.
Richard Sherman
Position: Cornerback
- Offenses rejoiced when Sherman exited the NFL after
an awe-striking career. One of the best to ever shadow
wideouts, he led the league with 24 passes defensed
in 2012 and eight interceptions in 2013. The lockdown
corner garnered five Pro Bowl nods, three All-Pro
selections and a spot on the NFL's All-2010s Team.
Geno Smith
Position: Quarterback
- A move to Smith at quarterback kept the Seahawks on
a flight path to success.
- The veteran responded to his
elevation in 2022 by putting together back-to-back Pro
Bowl seasons, with a winning record each year. He also
led the league in completion percentage in '22 while
winning Comeback Player of the Year honors.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Position: Wide Receiver
- Upon arriving in 2024, the first thing new
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald noticed about
Smith-Njigba was his incredible work ethic. "[Hel works
his tail off," Macdonald said. "His practice habits are
awesome, moving ability is pretty elite.
So, I think we've got a really cool plan for him."
Kenneth Walker III
Position: Running Back
- Walker has made the grade in Seattle. In 2022, he
became the second player in team history (Curt Warner)
to rush for 1,000 yards as a rookie.
- The next year,
Pro Football Focus gave him the sixth-highest grade
among all NFL running backs largely due to how
tough he is to bring down.
Curt Warner
Position: Running Back
- Making his NFL debut in Seattle's 1983 season opener
at Kansas City, Warner gave fans a preview of what to
expect from him by rushing for 93 yards.
- He went on
to have a marvelous campaign in which he totaled
1,449 yards on the ground - third in the NFL — and
earned his first of three Pro Bowl selections.
Devon Whiterspoon
Position: Cornerback
- As the 2023 season went on, more evidence emerged:
Witherspoon is a stud. "Has been the best defensive
player on this team," analyst Brock Huard said at
midseason as the rookie shined. "Just listen to these
NFL guys, former players, doing these broadcasts. Who
do they talk about the most? 'Spoon is everywhere."
Leonard Williams
Position: Defensive End
- Teams know better than to let their offensive linemen
go one-on-one against Williams for too long.
- The
hulking defensive end was double-teamed on more than
half of his snaps upon arriving in Seattle, but that didn't
slow him down in Week 14 of 2023, when he registered
a sack and four QB hits at San Francisco.
Tariq Woolen
Position: Cornerback
- Not every cornerback can go step-for-step and
nose-to-nose against the NFL's tallest wideouts. Woolen,
at 6-foot-4, can stand up to any pass-catcher.
- There's
no going over the top against Seattle's ball-hawking
standout, who in 2023 took his interceptions total to
eight across his first two pro campaigns.
